Anyway ... lets come to the article and lets get started now :-)

Aquariums have fascinated humans for centuries. Today, it is quite easy to have your own home setup with an aquarium and a wide variety of fish. A 75 gallon fish tank is on the larger end of the readily available sizes of aquariums, but it does have its advantages over other tanks that may be smaller. Pros And Cons Of A 75 Gallon Fish Tank It may seem odd at first, but a 75 gallon fish tank can actually be easier to take care of than a smaller tank, such as a 10 gallon tank. There is enough water in the system constantly flowing through filters, and the 75 gallon fish tank can become a sort of self-sustaining eco-system in its own right. There is much more to it than this, and you can find much more information on this online and at your local library. With a 75 gallon fish tank you also have the option of having a freshwater or saltwater aquarium. A saltwater aquarium is quite a bit more work than a freshwater aquarium, but you can house astoundingly beautiful fish in it once you have it all set up. A freshwater aquarium is probably your best bet if you are a beginner at the whole aquarium idea. Once you understand the basics and have researched saltwater aquariums, you can use your 75 gallon fish tank as a saltwater environment instead of a freshwater one. One thing you will need to take into consideration is the space a 75 gallon fish tank can take. They are quite large and quite heavy with all that water, so you will need a secure place to put the tank and a good, sturdy stand to put the tank on. One recommendation that most people will make is to not place your aquarium in front of a window that receives much sun since the extra light can heat up the tank and cause more bacterial growth. If you are just starting in the world of aquariums, a 75 gallon fish tank may not be the best starter tank since it is so large. You might want to start with something a bit smaller until you are used to caring for an aquarium. A 75 gallon fish tank can be a masterpiece and almost a work of art when maintained correctly. Whatever size of tank you choose, you are sure to enjoy your new aquatic environment.

snails again
Well i’ve ordered 4 different snails will be arriving in the post sometime. I’m getting them delivered to work, now i don’t expect this to be a problem cos it’s accepted that we will get stuff sent there, but a box of water labelled “livestock” might be one of the more interesting things to turn [...]

New Probes Installed.
Installed the new temperature probe for the AquaController Pro, calibrated the pH probe and installed the ORP probe. The first issue I noticed is that the temperature probe seems to be 2 degrees off on the low side.

As an interim fix, I programmed the AquaController Pro to add 2 degrees to the readout displayed and send an e-mail to Neptune Systems for clarification as the instruction manual hints that the probes are factory calibrated.

New Bellus Angelfish Picture
It's been about a year since I posted a picture of this fish. I love this little guy. Great color, swims funny, always out and about.

Found cracked impeller shaft on skimmer pump.
Drained out the EuroReef RC500 skimmer (holds about 8 gallons of water). Removed both SP4 recirculation pumps and inspected them. On the pump making the loud noise, I found the impeller shaft had cracked into two parts causing the magnet to bounce around.

This is the 4th impeller that has broke in this unit and they are expensive to replace. I'm going to consider swapping out the entire pump for a modified Eheim 1260 needle wheel pump instead. This is a very expensive upgrade but I'm hoping the impellers will last longer.

Water change
Just the normal, did 4 buckets of change and swapped the white wool filter at the top, and also one of the fine blue ones. We went to local fish shop the other day and got a batch of the filter media, they commented that we were buying a lot but I didn’t really see [...]
